Welcome !
OWREN
Ontario Wildlife Rehabilitation
and Education
Network
OWREN was founded in
1991 to support and inform professional
wildlife rehabilitators in the province
of Ontario.
If you are a wildlife rehabilitator or are interested in becoming
authorized
so that you can work on your own or perhaps just work as a volunteer
with an existing facility, then you've come to the right place! We can
help!
We are an information and education network that produces and
distributes
educational materials, and provides training opportunities
and a yearly
conference for rehabilitators and others in related professions.
Select a navigation button from the menu on the left and discover
what wildlife rehabilitation is and what we are about.
We hope you enjoy your visit!
Bookmark our site and check
back often for new information!
We invite you to learn about OWREN, and the valuable services
voluntarily provided by Authorized Wildlife
Custodians, their
registered Foster Care Providers and facility
volunteers
for
native Ontario wildlife, and for the public.
Join us and be part of a network of
wildlife rehabilitation professionals!

To facilitate and
achieve excellence in the profession
of
wildlife rehabilitation by sharing and
expanding our
knowledge to continually
improve the quality of care
for our native
species.
NOTE
OWREN does not provide 'how-to-rehabilitate' information nor
can we
diagnose the condition of any sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals
or
individual problems with wild animals through
email.
We are unable to respond to such requests.
If you cannot locate an Authorized Wildlife
Custodian near you
and have an emergency situation with an injured wild animal,
please contact your local SPCA, humane society, animal control,
veterinarian, or vet emergency clinic for immediate assistance.
OWREN is not a
wildlife rehabilitation centre nor does it operate one.
